Physics teacher (Part-time, North Stafford CGS site)
One section of CGS Physics and CGS Culminating; PLC with 5 CGS Phyiscs teachers and CGS site Culminating teachers.
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or education related to specific subject area to which assigned.
- Hold or be eligible for a valid teaching license which meets Commonwealth of Virginia requirements with specific endorsement in the area to which assigned.
The CGS Regional Office Manager performs complex office management duties, including accounting, administrative, and technical support for the regional program. This role assists The Commonwealth Governor's School Executive Superintendent and Regional Director, and serves as a community liaison, facilitating effective communication between sites, divisions, families, and regional staff.
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Coursework or training in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- At least One (1) year of experience supporting school-based accounting functions or activity funds is preferred.
The CGS Academic Support, Engagement and Outreach Coordinator will monitor student academic progress, provide students with academic support, assist faculty with instructional enrichment activities, manage the student information system, support recruiting and retention efforts, and manage stakeholder communication tools, including the website and social media.
Education (Required): Bachelor’s degree in education or related content area; (Preferred): Master’s degree in educational leadership, school leadership, counseling, or instruction from an accredited college or university
Experience (Required): Three (3) years of successful, full-time experience as a teacher, counselor, or supervisor/administrator in a K-12 school environment or a public or private day school; (Preferred): Experience with gifted or advanced learners
Licensure or Certifications (Required): Professional License issued by the Virginia Board of Education, or eligibility for same; (Preferred): Postgraduate Professional Certificate from the Virginia Board of Education with the Administration and Supervision endorsement, School Counseling endorsement, Gifted endorsement, or eligibility for same
CGS seeks teachers with experience with advanced learners, willling to differentiate instruction, collaborate with school and regional peers, and leverage technology for instruction.
- Provide differentiated instruction for advanced learners
- Plan collaboratively with regional colleagues
- Advise and support students in the CGS culminating experience
- Attend CGS extra- and co-curricular events
